2700 - CONVERSAS NA RUA — 2019

Conversas na Rua is a public art project in Amadora that promotes public art interventions every year with the aim of stimulating participation, dialogue, and reflection on the city.

Between the 1950s and 1970s, Amadora suffered a demographic explosion due to its position within the first crown surrounding the country's capital, Lisbon. It's a city that grew from the mixture of different communities and cultures from different parts of the world. People who at one point sought better living conditions in Portugal and settled in the surroundings of the capital. Today it is the fourth largest city in the country.

2700 is the city zip code and for me a way to mark that on the city so those communities can not forget what they built there so far.
